Montpellier is situated in the southern part of France and is the capital of the region of Languedoc-Roussillon. It is one of the few places in France that doesn’t have a Roman background. It is a city of hamlets, castles and towers like the twin towers of Tour de la Babott and the Tour des Pins. A vibrant city, it has all the elements of modernizations from bars to pubs and from malls to colorful markets. One of the popular castles is the Mogere Castle, which has the stunning and spectacular rockwork called "buffet d'eau". Another popular castle is the Flaugergues Castle, which was built in the 17th century and is located in the center of the Côteaux de la Méjanelle vineyard.
Being the capital of Languedoc, real estate in Montpellier is somewhat expensive especially in the town. Properties for sale include studio apartments, which range between €100,000 and €600,000.
