Ile de France is a far call from the busy schedules of urban life. It was once the favorite holiday destination and place of relaxation for kings, clerics and even ordinary Parisians. It is surrounded by lush forests and meandering rivers. There are some spectacular religious and historical monuments like the big and ostentatious Château de Versailles. The last resident of this palace was Marie-Antoinette. There are some more beautiful chateaus in this region like Fontainebleau, Napoléon's Malmaison and Vaux-le-Vicomte but nothing compares to the stained-glass beauty of the Chartres Cathedral.
Ile de France is a fairly new real estate market and investors are looking more towards the spectacular castles and enchanting villas rather than the normal houses.
