Chambéry, the capital of the region of Savoie or Savouè d'Avâl is situated in the Rhône-Alpes and is a promising holiday destination. It is a peaceful and quaint town that offers some great French cuisines, delicious wine and stunning architecture. The landscape is dotted with many vineyards and the atmosphere will smell of freshly prepared cheese. The old town of Chambéry, which is now a pedestrian only zone is trapped somewhere in the 13th century. A walk through this town is refreshing and the architecture is inspiring. One of the popular places of visit is the Castle of the Dukes of Savoie, which is a collection of historical building right from the middle age to post industrialization era. Winter attracts more people to the Ski resorts like the Val d’Isere.
