Aix-en-Provence is an attractive city situated in southern France and lies 30 km from Marseille. It is a part of the Provence region and has a population of approximately 137,000. There are some great places to see in Aix-en-Provence like the Cathédrale Saint Sauveur, Palais de l'Archêveché and Place de la Mairie. Often called as the city of thousand fountains, the most notable of them is the Fontaine des Quatre Dauphins or the fountain of the four dolphins. Some of the other beautifully sculptured fountains include the Le bon Roi René's Fountain, which is a hot water fountain and the spectacular La Rotonde fountain. An important seat of education, Aix has a culturally vibrant environment.
